Writing my A Court of Silver Flames review as if it were a character in A Court of Silver Flames…
This book was huge. So huge that I wondered if I would be able to actually finish it. It looked beautiful, the cover hard and glistening, but I wasn’t actually sure if I would be able to fit ALL of it inside my mind. I was sure to miss small parts of it. Seeing it laying there, cover thrown off now, I knew that I was going to try. I needed to fit as much of ACOSF inside my mind as I could.
I took the book into my hands, making sure to hold it with a firm grip, and as soon as I slid my finger past the first page, I KNEW that I needed to read it. I couldn’t wait. I tipped the book to my face, inhaling the scent and the sweet papery aroma was my undoing. I quickly pushed myself back onto the couch, and prepared myself for the sweet release that A Court of Silver Flames would unleash. By the end, I was shattered.
You see what I did there?? I was very excited to read A Court of Silver Flames because I had high hopes for it taking me out of the reading slump I had fallen into the last few months. It did! S.J Maas’s writing is entertaining and easy to dive into and ACOSF didn’t disappoint in that regard. Unfortunately, it did miss the mark in a few other areas in my opinion.
I like to keep my reviews spoiler free on here but if you would like to talk in more detail then feel free to message me over on my Instagram. I will say that I did not feel the same connection between #Nessian that I did with #Feysand and that inevitably shaped how I felt about the rest of the book. The sexy times was maybe a bit too much for me this time around, and I just found myself wanting to read something that was a smidge more realistic in the sexy times department.
