It is officially one week after the release of A Court of Silver Flames and that probably means we have all binged the book, and maybe even re-read the steamy Nessian scenes for good measure. I feel like Bookstagram is in one big A Court of Silver Flames Book Club right now and no matter where you turn to you hear whisperings of sexy Fae. This also probably means that you are in need OF MORE!!!! If you are already having Fae romance, mated love story withdrawals I’ve got you covered. I have put together a list of fantasy books revolving around the Fae, mates, or Fae mates…Enjoy.
Feel free to imagine these recommendations being purred or growled at you if it makes you feel better too. 😉

Fighting Destiny: The Fae chronicles
This is the definition of a guilty pleasure read, and if there is such a thing as an Erotica Fantasy genre that is what I would categorize this as. And OH BOY, does Ryder (the lead male and Dark Fae Prince) say some steamy things! We get another enemies to lovers romance here and we are in a world where supernatural beings are known to non-magic folk. If you are wanting a purely steamy Fae read with a sexy alpha male, then this is it.
Fit For The Throne
“The only way out is to play the game…”
That quote/blurb is what hooked me into reading this book! It’s a new adult book and it’s perfect for fans of the tournament/competition trope. The plot follows a group of magical people who must fight in a supernatural reality show to win the throne. It feels like a mash up of ACOTAR, Cruel Prince and Zodiac Academy and is definitely spicy. This is a true enemies to lovers, and fated mates fantasy romance and the spice happens pretty early in the story.
The Serpent and the Wings of Night
If there is one book I would say to read directly after finishing the ACOTAR series it would be The Serpent and the Wings of Night! Carissa Broadbent’s writing style is very similar to Sarah J Maas, and the plot is fast paced and action packed! It has the tournament trope, drama, winged attractive men and vampires. This is your next obsession, you’re welcome!
The Faceless Woman
Although Heart of the Fae may seem better suited to an ACOTAR fan, I personally love the The Faceless Woman. Bran’s dark wounded soul will appeal to fans of Rhysand and the fantasy portion of the story will satisfy your Fae loving needs!
Throne of Glass
This one is a given, and I am sure that you already know of Sarah J. Maas’s other Fae series revolving around purring mates, but just in case you haven’t heard of it. Go forth and read.
Rhapsodic
Slow burn steamy romance alert! Rhapsodic gives us both a fantasy world and the modern world. The main character, Callie continues to make deal after deal with the bargainer and he never collects and eventually disappears from her life. Then one day, 7 years later, he returns and he has every intention of collecting… ( cue dramatic music!!!) Sounds juicy doesn’t it?
Lord of the Fading Lands: Tairen soul series
First of all, don’t be misled by this cover. The cover makes it look like this will be a Terry Pratchett/Brandon Sanderson high fantasy book with a lot of world building. It’s not really that. It’s a sexy Alpha male fated fantasy love story and I think it’s important to know that going into it. The fae lore and world building is still interesting, but I definitely wouldn’t categorize it as high fantasy.
The Cruel Prince
This is a hugely hyped YA Fae series that most everyone has probably read, or at least heard of. I have only read the first book in the series but it is definitely for fans of moody, sarcastic morally grey boys in their books. (It me) I still didn’t LOVE book one, but everyone assures me the series gets better as it goes on.
An Enchantment of Ravens
Personally, I didn’t love this book. I know SO many people that did love it though, and it will definitely help fill the Fae shaped hole in your heart after finishing A Court of Silver Flames. The court system and Fae lore are actually very intriguing, the insta love trope just didn’t work for me in this one. I still recommend you check it out for yourself, you might love it.
The Iron Fey series
Okay, so technically I haven’t read this one yet but I am including it on this list because EVERYONE talks about how amazing it is! It promises an enemies to lover’s story line, a hidden destiny AND the main characters name is Meghan…if that “h” wasn’t in there it would be the perfect name. 😉 But really, I’ve heard good things and it’s another Fae story so definitely worth a try!
Cadence of Ciar
I 100% need to reread this book because it’s been a while and I am having trouble recalling most of the details. What I DO remember is that this depicts the darker side of fairy lore and that’s not something we get in Fae books much these days. Plus, there’s a bunch of sexy Fae and a romance…you know, the usual. 😉
I linked the audio book here because I am having some trouble finding a hard copy version of the book! Oh no!!
The following 3 recommendations are also on my Books to read if you loved Twilight post but they are equally perfect for fans of A Court of Silver Flames too!
Darkfever
After the death of her sister, MacKayla travels to Ireland to find out what happened to her. She also discovers that she can see into the Fae world and that the fae are hunting her because of her abilities. Really the only thing you need to know about this series is that Jericho Barron’s is in it, and he is yummy.
Dark Prince
Raven is a telepath that hunts serial killers. She takes a vacation from work and meets Mikhail, Prince of the Carpathians. He is the leader of a nocturnal race…and he is looking for his life mate. Sexy, sexy sexy! Also, did you see the mention of life mates? Mates!!!!!!
Thorn Jack
This is a Fairytale retelling of the story of Tam-Lin so this is perfect for fans of the ACOTAR series! The first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses, is also a retelling of the story of Tam-Lin. This is most definitely YA though and would be for fans of the Fae without a lot of sexy times involved.
I am actually only 5 chapters into A Court of Silver Flames right now but it is already delivering on the entertainment that I so desperately needed. I will have a Mini Review up soon but A Court of Silver Flames needs something special…I’m thinking GIF reactions throughout the book? I’ll think something up!
I died when I saw Nesta’s “meal” for Cassian ahhahaha
