Gilmore Girls!!!! It was definitely time for me to write about my favorite show, hence the name Just Like Gilmore Girls! I am recommending books based off of your favorite character on the show. Personally, my favorite characters are Paris Geller and Michel Gerard. I love Rory of course, because of the books, but Paris and Michel steal the show for me! Did I pick this because it was written by Lauren Graham, THE LORELAI GILMORE? Yes, Yes I did.

If you love Lorelai for her fast talking humor and ability to talk herself into (or out of) any situation, then Younger is a perfect book recommendation for you.
Rory Gilmore – Beautiful Exiles
Beautiful Exiles is About a successful reporter who falls in love with an already married Ernest Hemingway. Rory fans will connect with Martha, the MC of the novel, and her passion to pursue both her journalistic career and a passionate romance.
Emily Gilmore – Emma
Both Emma and Emily enjoy “meddling” in the lives of those around them. They often come across as snobby and intrusive, but deep down both women care a lot about their family and friendships.
Richard Gilmore – The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
We all remember the glee and pride that Richard felt after finally completing the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire and true Richard Gilmore fans need to feel that same pride! Go forth and complete this behemoth of a book!
Paris Geller – The Only Woman in the Room
A Story about a strong and innovative woman and scientist in Hollywood who helps to defeat the Nazis. Fans of Paris will instantly connect to the drive and passion that Heddy exudes throughout the novel.
Michel Gerard – The Importance of Being Ernest
Michel is one of my personal favorite characters on Gilmore Girls and I connect with his sarcasm 100%. I think fans of Michel will love The Importance of Being Ernest for the satire, sarcasm and (of course) manners displayed in the book.
Luke Danes – A Man Called Ove
If you love Luke because of his grumpy, loner, curmudgeon ways but know that he is really a sweet guy who will drive a mattress back and forth from a college campus nonstop…then you should read A Man Called Ove.
Christopher – Slam
First of all, it seems like there are not many Christopher fans. I asked for recommendations for books for Christopher fans on my Instagram and the answers do not paint Christopher in the best light. Poor Chris! This one did seem like a perfect fit though. Both protagonists are faced with a huge life changing event that shoots them into adulthood very quickly.
Sookie St. James – Kitchens of the Great Midwest
If you love Sookie for her ability to turn any moment into an amazing recipe and her adorable quirkiness, then Kitchens of the Great Midwest is perfect for you.
Kirk – Crush It: Why NOW is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion
You gotta love Kirk’s drive and passion to do exactly what he wants no matter the stigmas. Cable guy, kids school play actor, bicycle transportation, beauty store clerk, creator of his very own line of shampoos…Kirk goes for what he wants, and I have no doubt that he would love this motivational guide to help pursue his passions.
Kirk (A Second option) – The Bookish Life of Nina Hill
This might seem like an interesting pick for Kirk at first glance but Kirk and Nina are both adorably awkward at times and if you love Kirk for his tendency to get into some socially awkward situations then you will love Nina!
Taylor Doosey – The Very Silly Mayor
If you love Taylor then you probably love him for his wild and nutty shenanigans that he gets into as Town Selectman, and eventually the Mayor of Stars Hollow. Give this fun kids picture book a try!
Ms. Patty – Dancer
A passionate story revolving around the dancer Rudolph Nureyev. I can just imagine Ms. Patty swooning! If you are a Ms. Patty fan than you probably love the performing arts too and will love reading about the famous dancer.
Babette and Mory – Date Night In
I absolutely love Babette and Mory’s relationship on Gilmore Girls. They are both so unique and at first glance are complete opposites, but they love and respect each other so intensely. I can 100% picture them both staying home and working on this couples journal as a date night, especially since one thing the two of them have in common is their creativity.
Gypsy – Gideon the Ninth
I think that both Lane and Gypsy would totally love Gideon the Ninth and the extreme female power that comes with it. Plus, something tells me that Gypsy is secretly a science fiction lover.
Dean – To All the Boys I loved Before
I know that Dean is usually not the favorite of Rory’s boyfriends but I actually have a huge soft spot for Dean and I feel that he is a sweet romantic. If you love Dean for his soft heart, the first love that he shares with Rory and his small town charm then give To All the Boys I loved Before a try.
Jess Mariano – Invisible Man
If you connected to Jess’s life as a “stranger” and outsider to Stars Hollow then you should read The Invisible Man.
Jess Mariano (a second option) – Vicious
Jess Mariano definitely served as the “Bad Boy” on Gilmore Girls, but was he really? If you connected to the morally grey aspects of Jess’s character, as well as his intelligence, then Vicious is perfect for you.
Tristan – The Secret History
Something about Tristan screams preppy Dark Academia to me and I can 100% picture him being a character in The Secret History. Tristan fans would love Dark Academia books, and The Secret History is the mother of all Dark Academia!
Logan Huntzberger – The Catcher in the Rye
A coming-of-age novel about a wealthy kid who is kicked out of an elite boarding school. This screams Logan does it not? Or possibly Christopher as well…
Logan Huntzberger (A Second option) – Ninth House
If you love Logan for the mystery and intrigue surrounding The Life and Death Brigade and have always wandered what it would be like to be a member in a secret society in College, then give Ninth House a try.
Lane Kim – Daisy Jones and the Six
Lane fans need a rock and roll, music loving, feminist read to devour and this is it!
Dave Rigowski – Baby’s in Black
A Graphic novel about the life of the fifth Beatle. Dave Rigowski fans will appreciate the unique formatting of this book, and will enjoy diving into the Beatles story in ways that non music lovers would never know.
Zack – Scott Pilgrim Versus the World
The Scott Pilgrim series is equal parts humorous and quirky and still manages to add elements of music into the plot. Zack fans will connect to Scott in multiple ways.
April Nardini – The Overstory
I am among the minority that actually liked April’s character on Gilmore Girls. Who I did not like was her mother! They tried to create a second Lorelai Gilmore with Anna, and they were just not successful. I couldn’t stand her character. April, on the other hand, I liked. I can 100% imagine a grown up April reading and loving the Overstory. The novel is about trees and their relationship with people, and it’s actually quite beautiful.
